An organic wine from Chile this time, brought to us from Marks and Spencer and was a cracking find.
Marks and Spencer have an excellent selection of wines but I was disappointed to see no natural wine for sale but Emiliana use biodynamic farming techniques and focus on soil health and are working hard to ensure they are as fair to the environment and their staff as possible and have created a stunning bottle here.
Bottled at 13.5% but isn’t heavy going at all, in fact it’s more like fruit juice.
Nose. Pure fruit, blackberry and sour cherries, it’s just divine, would go well with duck if anyone is interested, vanilla pods and almost a spiced rum note.
Palate. Light for something at 13.5% lots more blackberry and blackcurrant, vanilla sherbet and a touch of raspberry jam.
A wonderful drop this, easy to drink, full of fruity notes and it worked well with spicy cured meats, Salad and smoked cheese.
